1. Subscribing to The Insurer

How can I get full access to the website and app?

To get full access to www.theinsurer.com – including breaking news & analysis by email, daily round-ups, exclusive data on the industry, the app and more – you must purchase a digital subscription. Learn more about purchasing a subscription »

What are the benefits of a subscription?

Subscribers to The Insurer enjoy access to a variety of digital content and features, including:

  • Entire online archive, two daily roundups on the day’s news, regular breaking news, analysis, opinion and intelligence on all critical issues
  • Control over the content you receive – and WHEN you receive it
  • Company Pages – our A-Z listing of top (re)insurers and brokers

Our subscribers can opt in to receive any, all, or none of the products below

2. Managing my account

Cannot access the homepage?

If you are having trouble accessing www.theinsurer.com, we’d very much like to recommend that you ask your IT team to add our sending IP domain to your internal white list.

Not receiving our content?

Your email service provider may use filters which can prevent you from receiving or properly viewing our emails in your inbox.

If you do not see an email from The Insurer in your inbox, our emails may have mistakenly been sent to your spam folder. If you find an email from us in the spam folder, please open it and mark as ‘Not spam’.

To avoid this happening in the future, we kindly ask that you add our sender address newsletters@theinsurer.com to your trusted list of contacts or address book.

Signing in

For subscribers, signing into The Insurer’s website and app will give full access to your paid-for features. Click here to see the benefits of your subscription.

How to sign in?

>> On the desktop site

1. Click on the “Sign in” icon at the top right of the screen2. Enter your email address and password and click “SIGN IN”3. You may wish to tick “Remember me” to avoid having to re-enter these details in the future

>> On the mobile site

1. Tap the figure icon at the top right of the screen2. Click on “Sign in” and enter your email address and password3. You may wish to tick “Remember me” to avoid having to re-enter these details in the future

>> On The Insurer App

Open the app and enter your email address and password associated with your subscription and tap “Login”.

Note: Your website and app passwords are NOT interconnected. If you decide to change your password on the website, please remember to do the same within the app, as the logins work as separate entities. Likewise, if you change your app password, it will NOT automatically do the same for the website.

How can I remain signed in?

If you tick the ‘Remember me’ box on our sign in form, you will automatically be signed in next time you visit our homepage on the same device.

Having trouble with sign in

Your browser may be blocking cookies. Please check the cookie settings in your browser to confirm that you are accepting cookies, and check that you aren’t running any browser extensions or add-ons which may be clearing them. Private browsing or incognito mode may also impact sign in.

Change my login details

Want to revise your email address? Whatever changes you need to make to your profile, let us know at subscriptions@wbmediagroup.com and we’ll get it sorted for you ASAP.

Change my password

To change the password you use to log in to www.theinsurer.com, please visit your account homepage and click change password.

To change the password on the app, click on the menu bar at the top left corner of your screen, then select “Profile” and go to the settings icon at the top right of the screen. Click “modify” under Password.

Forgot my password

On the website, click “Forgotten password” on the sign-in form, enter the email address associated with your account and you will receive an email with a reset password link. You may wish to check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive in your inbox.

On the app, click “Forgot your password?” and enter your email address to receive reset instructions, then click “Send Link”.

Update my account preferences

To update your account preferences, visit your account homepage or click on your name at the top right of the screen and select “My Account”. Here, you can manage your personal information, change your password, and sign up for newsletters and e-mail alerts.

Changing your account details here will NOT change your details on our apps. 

Unsubscribe from emails

Our email alerts have an ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom. Clicking this will unsubscribe you from that particular email. If you are subscriber, you can also adjust your newsletter preferences within your account homepage.

If you wish to unsubscribe from all emails, kindly let us know at customerservices@wbmediagroup.com and we will take you off all of our distribution lists.

Delete my account

If you no longer wish to have an account with us, simply go to your account homepage and click on “delete your account” at the bottom of the page.

3. The Insurer App 

The app is compatible with iOS and Android and offers a user-friendly platform to consume information. Click here to find out more about its features and benefits.

To make sure you are kept up to date with the latest news from the industry as and when it happens, make sure to opt in for push notifications - simply open your phone Settings, find the app and click on “Allow notifications”.

How do I get access to your app?

Download the app

To locate and download The Insurer App on your device, please visit the App Store or Google Play.

Once you have downloaded the app you will have to login with your subscriber credentials. If you are having trouble remembering your credentials, feel free to contact us at subscriptions@wbmediagroup.com and we will get back to you ASAP.

Turn on/off push notifications

On iOS:

1. Go to Settings > Notifications2. Select The Insurer app3. Turn Allow Notifications on or off 

On Android:

1. On your Android device, tap Apps > Settings > MORE2. Tap Application manager > DOWNLOADED3. Tap on The Insurer app4. Select or clear the check box next to Show notifications to enable or disable push notifications

Access the app

Subscribers will need to log in to access the app content.

Changing your login details

If you have forgotten the e-mail address you use to log in to your account, please contact us at subscriptions@wbmediagroup.com.

If you have forgotten your password, simply open the app and click “Forgot your password?”, then enter your email address to receive reset instructions.

Who are The Insurer?

The Insurer caters for the specialty (re)insurance market, which put simply, is insurance coverage for unique or special risks. These can range from policies that provide cover against earthquakes and hurricanes, to space satellites and Olympic Games.
