Ransomware, AI and privacy litigation drive shifting cyber claims picture

Ransomware remained the costliest cyber claim type in 2025, while artificial intelligence is accelerating attack speeds and privacy litigation is emerging as a growing loss driver, according to reports from Coalition, Munich Re and Chubb published in early 2026.
