The syndicate is set to begin underwriting on January 1 and has an initial gross written premium target of $150 million for the 2026 year of account. Atrium said the syndicate will initially focus on delegated property catastrophe and weather and climate risk.

Capital support for the syndicate is through a mix of trade, institutional and traditional capital, with Aon and Evercore providing capital advisory support.

The syndicate will be led by Rachel Grunert as active underwriter. According to her LinkedIn profile, Grunert currently serves as Atrium’s head of culture and strategy integration.

The new launch is in addition to Atrium’s existing Syndicate 609, which traces its history back to the 1930s.
