Johnston: CinFin Q1 new commercial business written drops 14% despite price increases

Cincinnati Financial’s management has reported that new business written in the commercial lines segment was down in the first quarter despite pricing continuing to increase, while the insurer is writing an increased amount of homeowners business on an E&S basis.
