Donations will benefit three of the IICF's non-profit partners serving both evacuees and first responders: the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund, the California Fire Foundation's SAVE Program for wildfire and disaster relief, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

"As catastrophic wildfires rage across Southern California, a staggering number of families and communities are facing unimaginable devastation. In response, we have established the IICF Wildfire Relief Fund to help those in desperate need of shelter and assistance," said the IICF in a LinkedIn post.

"Together, we can lend our support and make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve."

Established in 1994, the IICF serves as the philanthropic foundation for the insurance industry, having contributed $50mn in community grants and more than 355,000 volunteer hours.

The IICF reinvests locally where funds are raised to maximise community impact.

As this publication has reported in detail, the two largest wildfires burning around Los Angeles – Palisades and Eaton – remain uncontained at the time of writing. According to the latest data from officials, the Palisades and Eaton fires had damaged or destroyed more than 9,000 structures by late Thursday.
