AmWINS announced on Monday morning that, as of 1 May, its program focused platform had entered into a new carrier partnership for the four offerings.

In a statement, APU said “the new carrier is recognised as one of the world’s leading reinsurers with a dedicated focus on property and casualty specialty programs”.

Ben Francavilla, APU president, commented: “We have identified a new carrier that is committed to the program business space which will provide the ideal support and continuity for our retailers.”

And The Insurer has learned that it is Markel who is the new carrier partner for this quartet of programs.

“We are looking forward to this new relationship, which provides us with the ability to enhance our current programs with additional solutions that focus on the specific needs of these niche industries,” Francavilla added.

Under the terms of the tie-up with Markel, AmWINS has been able to broaden the scope of the coverage offered by its four programs. Clients can now secure blanket building and business personal property coverage across all locations within a single state.

The general liability enhancement and auto enhancement forms have also been broadened.

“The APU team is committed to providing specialised solutions to the evolving challenges our clients are facing in the marketplace, and the enhancements to our programs as a result of the new partnership have further strengthened our comprehensive offerings for these markets,” said Dan Curran, senior vice president and underwriting officer.

APU operates some 50 programs, offering protection in a wide variety of sectors including control of well, senior living facilities, dealer’s open lot, roofing contractors and waste haulers, among many others.
