Guy Carpenter has named former Aon executive Miles Shephard as managing director and head of GC Access, International, effective October 2021.
Shephard will be responsible for overseeing all activities across the international division of GC Access, Guy Carpenter’s dedicated program business unit.
Launched in October, the GC Access unit provides services to carriers and MGAs operating in the program market.
Shephard and the team will work with clients to provide a range of transaction services and program solutions, spanning carrier selection, (re)insurance placement, capital market access, contract expertise and servicing, as well as analytical and modelling capabilities.
The new hire brings more than 35 years of industry experience to the role. Most recently, he was executive chairman for global MGA and portfolio solutions at Aon Reinsurance Solutions.
During his career, he was also head and founder of the LNA binding authority and programs unit at Benfield. In addition. Shephard has held senior roles at SVB Syndicates and RK Carvill & Co.

Based in London, Shephard will report to Jameson and Kevin Fisher, chairman of Guy Carpenter UK, Global Specialties and London North America.
