Kathy Cody has been named president of Orchid Underwriters Agency, a specialty underwriter of catastrophe-exposed property insurance.
Cody joined Orchid in 2019 as chief operating officer, a newly-created role in which she worked with president and CEO Brad Emmons and Orchid’s private equity owner TowerBrook Capital Partners on strategic growth opportunities and continued expansion of the business.
The executive was previously at Farmers Insurance Group, where she served as COO of personal lines.
Emmons was previously Orchid president in addition to his CEO role.
Last year Orchid and American Family subsidiary Homesite launched a reciprocal exchange insurer called Trusted Resource Underwriters Exchange to write Florida homeowners business on an admitted basis.
