Scor has made a series of internal management changes that include the appointment of John Jenkins as CEO of its P&C reinsurance operations in the Americas.
The former Swiss Re executive was most recently CUO of P&C treaty for the Americas at the French reinsurer. Officially starting in his new role today, Jenkins reports to Jean-Paul Conoscente, who succeeded Victor Peignet as CEO of Scor Global P&C with effect from 1 April this year.
Conoscente had previously headed Scor’s P&C North American business, before taking charge of all reinsurance business across the Global P&C unit ahead of his most recent promotion.
The Jenkins appointment has triggered several other changes in the management of Scor Global P&C in the Americas.
Frank Coglianese, who was most recently CUO for US P&C treaty, takes Jenkins previous position as CUO of P&C treaty for the Americas. The former Guy Carpenter executive has been with the reinsurer since 2008.
Nick Nudo steps in as CUO for US P&C treaty, moving from his previous role as senior vice president and team leader for general liability in the US treaty division. The former XL Re and Zurich executive now reports to Coglianese.
Meanwhile, Maura Haynes - who joined Scor in 2016 from Swiss Re - is promoted from vice president and senior general liability US treaty underwriter to senior vice president and team leader of general liability US treaty, reporting to Nudo.
Sources said that external candidates had been considered for a number of the senior positions before Scor opted to promote from within its organization.
Commenting on the moves, Conoscente said the promotions showcased the depth of the reinsurer’s talent pool.
“Since he joined SCOR, John has proved instrumental in building the Americas into the operation it is today. He has also clearly demonstrated his ability to foster the image and the reputation of SCOR in the region.
“In his new role, John will be in charge of determining the path to achieving our ambitions in the Americas. Frank and Nick will continue in their new roles to be our local leaders for SCOR’s business development. Maura’s promotion is a recognition of the value we know she will continue to bring,” he said.
