Kemper swings to $99mn operating loss on increased auto frequency and severity

Kemper has swung to a $99.4mn adjusted consolidated net operating loss for the second quarter, with the auto-focused US insurer citing higher claim frequency and severity trends from the pandemic’s re-opening as well as increased severity in personal injury protection coverage in Florida.
