Insurance Director Boot Camp to provide intense educational programme in July

The Insurance Director Boot Camp – which will be held from 19-21 July in New York – has lined up 25 sessions to provide an intense educational programme, with speakers including Dominic Addesso and Brian Duperreault.

The event is being held at the Manhattan Campus of St John’s University. The university is one of the sponsors of the event along with the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, G58 Advisors and Jacobson. 

It is aimed at current and prospective directors of property casualty insurance organisations who wish to gain a broad and deeper understanding of the fundamentals of the industry, emerging issues and governance priorities. 

The agenda consists of 25 focused presentations covering an array of topics including: actuarial triangles and loss development; capital allocation; benchmarking of operating costs and investment portfolios; and regulatory oversight.

The Insurance Director Boot Camp will be introduced by G58 Capital president and CEO Stan Galanski. 

One particularly timely panel will focus on cybersecurity. Among the speakers giving their insight on this panel will be Corvus CEO Phil Edmundson and CyberCube consultant William Altman. 

The end of the second day will feature a dinner with Duperreault, former chairman and CEO of both AIG and Marsh & McLennan Companies. 

The final day includes a session on maintaining the talent pool. This will include insights from Jacobson CEO Greg Jacobson, Copper Point Mutual director LoriAnn Lowery-Biggers and BMS Re and ClearView Risk chair Addesso.
