ILS specialist Britton dies aged 58

ILS specialist and former Aon executive Steve Britton has passed away suddenly at the age of 58.

Britton was a well-known figure within the Bermuda market and the global ILS community.

He joined Aon in 2015 as managing director of global ILS management. In 2022, he was promoted to global managing director for ILS and commercial management.

Britton was responsible for leading the Aon Insurance Managers portfolio, as well as developing and maintaining its ILS business opportunities across P&C, life and run-off.

It is understood he recently left the broking group.

Prior to Aon, Britton was a senior vice president at Horseshoe Group, where he spent five years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

His other experience, which numbers 20 years, includes time at Willis Capital Markets, at investment bank Fox-Pitt Kelton Cochran Caronia Waller, and another role at Aon Capital Markets.
