Hub International has named Michael Chapman national director of commercial markets, a newly-created role which the executive will assume in addition to his existing responsibilities as president of the broker’s south region.
The commercial middle market represents approximately 45 percent of Hub’s total revenues, and in his new role Chapman will be responsible for the development and execution of claims best practices, product development, special projects and carrier management within this sector.
Chapman will also be responsible for M&A as it relates to key specialty industries and emerging segments within Hub’s commercial middle market business.
As Marc Cohen, Hub’s president and CEO explained, the bulk of the broker’s core business comes from the commercial middle market segment.
Cohen added: “Mike brings more than 30 years of experience in this space, in addition to his deep expertise in catastrophe management and claims. Under his leadership, he has grown the HUB South region to over $300mn in revenue, due to his customer-first approach, making him the ideal leader for this role.”
Chapman currently serves on Hub’s executive management team, and also sits on both its steering and operations committees.
Before joining Chicago, Illinois-based Hub in 1998, Chapman spent just over a year with Lexington, and prior to that, more than six years at Fireman’s Fund.
