Germania halts writing new business in bid to address loss-hit surplus
Germania Farm Mutual Insurance Association has stopped writing new business other than via its Germania General Agency and Life units as the Texas-focused carrier looks to strengthen its surplus after suffering “a significant hit” from weather-related property losses in June that exceeded budget by around $100mn, The Insurer has learned.
