Florida’s private homeowners carriers fall to $1.15bn 9M ’21 UW loss

The desperate state of the Florida homeowners insurance market is underscored by a collective net loss of $847mn for the first nine months of 2021, with a net underwriting loss for the same period of $1.15bn, despite the Sunshine State not experiencing a major hurricane landfall this year.
