Fairfax Q3 GPW soars 25% but Brit and Odyssey CRs rise on cats

Fairfax Financial’s gross premiums written (GPW) surged 24.8 percent year on year in Q3 2021, and while its (re)insurance operations posted a collective 101.1 percent combined ratio for the catastrophe-hit quarter the results differed significantly for its individual operations with both Brit and Odyssey posting elevated combined ratios.
