CNA beats in record Q2 despite cyber attack impacting operations during quarter

CNA posted a core income in the second quarter of $341mn – or $1.25 per share – becoming the latest carrier to outperform analyst consensus this earnings season as its underlying combined ratio improved and catastrophe losses fell, despite acknowledging the fallout from a cyber attack in March “had an impact on production” in the quarter.
