BMS’ Siffert: US Q1 cat loss tally to date “below average”

Catastrophe losses incurred by US carriers for the quarter to date are likely below average, according to BMS meteorologist Andrew Siffert, with winter storms and severe convective storms having likely caused ~$2bn in losses so far in 2022.
