Axis shares rise 6% on $425mn reserve charge Tizzio calls “necessary step” to progress

Shares in Axis Capital climbed over 6 percent on Wednesday following the release of preliminary results that included a $425mn Q4 reserve charge, with the Bermudian (re)insurer’s CEO stating that the action was “a necessary step to progress forward as a specialty leader”.
