Arch UW income up 13% in Q2 to $606mn as reinsurance UW gain climbs 75% to $245mn

Arch Capital grew underwriting income by 13 percent in the second quarter, powered by a 75 percent jump in reinsurance underwriting profits to $245mn and an 11 percent upswing in its insurance underwriting gain to $108mn, which offset a 15 percent drop in mortgage to $253mn.
