Arch UW income increases 25% in Q1 earnings beat

Arch Capital has reported a comfortable first quarter earnings beat, with results that included increases of 24.5 percent for underwriting income and 25.8 percent for gross premiums written, although the combined ratio worsened 1.9 points because of deterioration in the mortgage segment.
