AIG to sell Validus Re to RenRe for $3bn
RenaissanceRe has agreed to acquire its fellow Bermudian Validus Re from AIG for $2.985bn at a valuation of 1.42x book, in a deal the seller said will reduce volatility in underwriting results and unlock significant capital and the buyer said will accelerate growth in a favorable reinsurance market.
