Patrick Tannock, serves as Chief Executive Officer, XL Bermuda Ltd, Insurance and Chair of the Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC).

He is responsible for strategic direction, underwriting profitability and leadership of XL Catlin’s Bermuda Insurance Operations. He is also President of the XL Foundation, the company’s philanthropic unit.

Mr. Tannock has more than 30 years of experience in the international insurance and reinsurance industry.

Prior to joining XLIB, he served as Executive Vice President of ACE Bermuda as well as Chief Underwriting Officer and Director of the company’s specialist directors & officers subsidiary Corporate Officers & Directors Assurance Ltd. (CODA). He has also held executive brokerage positions with Marsh & McLennan prior to joining ACE.

Mr. Tannock is currently Chairman of the Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC). He was appointed to the position in January 2015. He is also a founding member of the Financial Intelligence Agency Board.

Mr. Tannock has also served as a member of the Outstanding Directors (ODX) Advisory Board, former co-chair of the Bermuda PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriting Society) Conference, former member of the Bermuda Hospitals Board, a former member of the Bermuda Government’s Board of Education and former member of the Board of Directors to Butterfield Bank.

Mr. Tannock holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration Cum Laude with a major in insurance and finance from the University of Hartford and a certificate of participation in the Executive Management Program fem the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. In January 2011, he became the first Bermudian to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business.

He is a regular participant and speaker at professional and educational conferences and panel discussions.
