The worst kept industry secret was confirmed today with Arthur J Gallagher’s agreement to buy Willis Re in a move that ends more than a year of uncertainty at the reinsurance broker and narrows the gap to the big two of Aon and Guy Carpenter, while also paving the way for Greg Case to complete his own landmark WTW takeover.
